We had an absolutely magical stay at Aloha Aku! We were visiting Maui for the first time and celebrating our 10-year anniversary. I'm so glad we found this place...it was everything we were hoping for and more! You enter down a long palm tree-lined+ Moredriveway with a beautiful wetland on the left. We stayed in the Bamboo Suite which has its own private patio (all units do) that opens to a lush, shaded lawn that meets the beach. They also have a large, stone hot tub flanked with dipping pools on each side. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the hot tub several nights during our stay. The unit was spacious, clean and comfortable, and filled with everything we needed - including beach chairs and a cooler. In addition to all of this, they have a sports locker with boogie boards, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and bikes you're welcome to use. We enjoyed the amenities immensely! And I haven't even gotten to the best part - their gorgeous beach, just steps from our condo. We trekked up and down Maui and were always so happy to come back to our oasis at Aloha Aku. Their property manager, Therese, also arranged for a wonderful hot stone massage with Gail. All in all it’s a superb experience we'd recommend to anyone! Thank you to Charlene, Gary and Therese for an unforgettable vacation!

We absolutely loved our stay! Our favorite things were the beach and pool right off the patio! The beach had very few people on it during our stay! We enjoyed the kayaks as well! We walked to several restaurants and the grocery store during our+ Morevisit and would absolutely stay here again. The location was perfect! Sorry in advance for a little bit of bathroom talk...the bathroom situation is not ideal. There is limited privacy. It would not keep us from visiting again, but the additional privacy would have made our ranking a 5 star!

Aloha Aku was such a great find. Very easy to communicate with the owners/property managers. Convenient location and right on the beach. Room was very spacious, plenty of room for us and our stuff, easy parking right outside the door. The bed was+ Moreso comfortable too. When we went to the beach we used the beach chairs and towels that were provided, and pretty much had the beach to ourselves (this was in late August) which was such a welcome surprise. We would definitely stay there again if we ever come back to Maui!

The staff were really nice, everything was so well thought out.. the grounds were beautiful with manicured lawns with shade+ Moretrees and the beach right in front.. we spent a bunch of time in the ocean right in front as well as watching the sunsets from out room or patio or the common use spa.. our room was super clean and tidy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aloha AKU Inn & Suites! We spent a week in the Bamboo Suite for our babymoon and couldn’t have been happier with the location and amenities. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals, we loved+ Moretaking the kayaks out on the ocean, and the hot tub and plunge pools right outside our room were perfect for relaxing and taking in the ocean views and starry nights. The beach was never too crowded and quite often we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It was great to have access to beach chairs, umbrellas, and even a cooler to keep our sandwiches and drinks cold in the beautiful Maui sun. We were able to explore every side of the island from Kihei too, with everything less than a 2 hour drive away. We can’t thank the Aloha AKU team enough for making our last vacation before baby more perfect than we could have ever imagined. We can’t wait to return!

We have stayed at lovely Aloha Aku about 10 or 11 times since February 2012 and each time we arrive we smile and feel like we're coming to a second home with old friends. After a long flight, you can collapse into a beautifully comfortable bed with+ Morelovely linens and quiet, cool rooms. If you leave your windows open a bit you can be awakened by the birds. They thoughtfully stock the pantry with coffee, cream and sugar and continental breakfast including Linda's delicious homemade banana bread and granola so you don't have to rush to the grocery store (which is just next door). The rooms are spotless and tastefully decorated in Hawaiin style. The property is really unique- beautiful beach facing as well as a lovely lagoon with ducks and a mini eco forest. As an early riser, I appreciate being able to slip into the common kitchen and make coffee and sit in the library until the sun comes up so as not to wake my husband, the peacefulness and amenities are unique. It is the best place for rest and relaxation and appreciating the natural beauties of Maui with hosts and a team that are truly kind and happy to share this little paradise with you. Char and Gary have designed the units uniquely with thoughtful touches with your every need in mind. Their team - Linda, Jose, and Wade are genuinely kind and caring, they really reflect the spirit of Aloha. Char and Gary have attracted a team that reflects their values and we have found the guests are like-minded, it is a special place. Linda and Jose check-in with you to see that you have everything you need and notice the important small details that make your stay enjoyable and easy. You can see that they are proud of Aloha Aku and appreciate the wildlife and beauty of the property too. Everything works, and if it doesn't they address it immediately and pleasantly. We really enjoyed our stay here and the location is perfect. The beach is great with nice swimming. The units are very well equipped and comfortable. It was very nice that the common room had condiments as well as fruit and juice and other items. We+ Morealso really appreciated the sporting equipment we could borrow such as kayaks and flotation devices. we used all the amenities including the soaker Pools and Hot Tub .would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. The ducks greeted us by the bbq every evening!

We enjoyed every moment of our stay at Aloha Aku in the Bamboo Suite. The peace and quiet were so appreciated, and of course, the grounds and the beach in front were absolutely gorgeous which was an endless source of beauty while we were there.+ MoreLoved seeing the turtles every day! The breakfast treats were lovely, and we made good use of some of the beach gear. It was a little hard not having an oven (we don't use microwaves) but we ate out a lot anyway, and the stove top was just fine for cooking breakfasts. The bed was SUPER comfy and we slept very well. We felt very at home while there, and will definitely plan to come back again one of these days. The only thing I (Sue) would change, and it's a very small thing, is the light that comes on automatically out on the lanai after dark. I kept forgetting it was there and triggering it to come on, when I really just wanted to sit in the peaceful evening or early morning dawn. If there was some way to disable that automatic light, I'd love to know about it. But like I said, no biggie at all. We loved being so close to everything, and appreciated all the info available on things to do and see locally. Deepest Mahalo from Erick and I, and also our two girls who stayed in the CocoPalm Suite who loved their stay and will surely be touching bases with you to give a review.

Soften the edges of the tile transition - at the front door and off the back patio onto the brick. I tripped twice when I had my arms full and the lights were dim. We loved our time at your Aloha Aku retreat. Once there, we didn't even feel like+ Moreleaving because it was so peaceful and provided everything we needed to play on the water as well as cook in (other than our groceries). First I must say this is our second visit. The first time we were alone, this time we brought three more couples, all family. The most difficult part of this vacation had to do with the whole issue of 737s. Three couples were booked on 737 flights+ Morecoming and going. While we had this planned months in advance the airline would only change the flights three days in advance causing a lot of challenges. We are very grateful that one couple who arrived at midnight the night before our booking was able to check in around midnight with no extra fees. One couple slept on our futon the last night as their flight had been moved to the next day. They were so good to help us out. So why are we back? Well this location allows family to eat and play together yet get some private time and well deserved quiet time on their break from work. Some nights we ate on the lanai above the garage and some nights on our lanai on the water side. We all tried to stay on mainland time and were up with the birds and to bed just after dark. While here, we were able to kayak, paddle board, go biking, golf, snorkel, explore, dine out, eat in, sit at the beach and just cool off in the soaking pool, or melt the tight muscles away in the heated soaking pool. We were able to start our day with fresh fruit, cereal, and baking with a cup of tea or some local fruity drinks. We found some things we needed in the common kitchen and left some behind. ( a bunch of beer from the kids ) We enjoyed the bbq where we cooked our mahi mahi, steaks, chicken, ribs, grilled asparagus and pineapple, and so much more. Daytime we packed our cooler and headed off and some just hung around enjoying some quiet time. We can't say enough about the great staff. Linda, Wade and Jose were always helpful and cheerful and very kind to us. Char and Gary, the owners, were helpful and upbeat when we dealt with a minor glitch. We all hope to come back again.

Also, the self check in makes one feel right at home. This truly is the best place to stay in Maui.

We had a really wonderful 1 week stay at Aloha Aku. The photos of the grounds do not do justice to the property. We were just steps from the ocean, which was never crowded. Aside from the views from the patio and proximity to the beach, the other+ Morethings that made the stay great were the use of full sports equipment--from Kayaks, to water shoes, to snorkling gear as well as the fridge that was stocked with fruit, yogurt, banana bread and drinks and access to essentials if you left things at home like bug spray, nail polish remover, etc. We loved it here!!!

The amenities are awesome and the view of the beach and ocean are fantastic. The breakfast selection was quite a variety and we loved the guava, strawberry, orange juice is that were offered us. A real treat was homemade banana nut bread. A really+ Morenice place to stay and beautiful grounds. The beach accessories offered to us were surprise.

Char and Gary are great hosts. They were so nice to allow us both an early check-in and late check- out. The property is lovely and beautifully situated on the beach. The unit was immaculate. Kitchen was well equipped for whatever cooking you+ Moremight want to do. Super comfy bed. Great tv. They also have lots of beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. for guest use.
